Birds speak to me. They move my soul to write. Hence, this penned piece.

I spied a blue jay and stopped my car to take a picture. It was standing
still in mulch looking up the embankment. So curious was I. It stood there
for minutes without moving; no fluttering wings or moving head towards my
car that had parked alongside it. After I took the shot, I thought that
maybe if I got out and took a picture it would look even better. Upon
debarking, it flew into a tree. I returned to my seat and drove away,
satisfied that I had at least captured its beauty. My Knowing was that the
blue jay would be a Blog post picture… and here we are.

My mind went in a few directions about the sedentary bird I had stumbled
upon. It came back to the one question I kept asking myself, “Was it
waiting? Protecting? Resting?” No, I did not go into channel to find out. To
date, I have not done this. I enjoy being human and having third dimensional
experiences where I ponder and posit.

Blue jay might have been waiting for its mate to come along for a morning
chat. Perhaps it had a nest being built and it was protecting its partner
who was busy in the process. Were eggs laid and there was a primitive
position taken to stand guard by the nest? Or, perhaps, had it been busy and
needed a respite before moving on to next tasks? Maybe it was a combination
or something else I did not consider in the mix of possibilities. It was fun
speculating despite my not learning why it was still when our paths crossed.

Some who encounter a situation or circumstance with little information at
hand hastily presume what they feel is fact. In this case, few if any
queries are made and conclusions are drawn from speculation. Usually, the
person wishes to know versus be in the unknown and be fine with that.
Sometimes they don’t know what questions to ask for information gathering’s
sake. Still, others have not learned to accept that there might not be
enough to go on and they will not know what is going on. Overall, to jump to
a conclusion does enhance one’s developing investigative skills, sitting
with the unknown, putting ego aside and finding it acceptable to not know,
and enjoying the creative process of speculation. If one has not been taught
to pull back and sit in the unknown, it can be offered here that this is
very acceptable; no report cards are being given if one is mystified. If a
more knee-jerk reaction has developed in one’s life, they may consider
trying a new approach by pulling out and observing first. Information
gathering is a skill and some do not wish to do the work. That is fine,
however, the conclusions drawn with little if anything from which to draw
might lead to a faulty end.

The blue jay stood, looked up, flew to a branch when the car door opened. It
was daytime.

I enjoyed my mind’s journey as it created scenarios of possible reasons for
its pose. That was all I wanted. No pressure to know. No pressure to find
out. Not even channel. I didn’t even look up blue jay energy/blue jay animal
totem/blue jay spirit message. It was that short and sweet. The human
experience of observing, being, allowing, accepting, and enjoying
encompassed this post-drive by.

If you complicate by pushing and hastily concluding, fearing that you will
be seen as inept for not knowing, falling back on not caring about what is
before you, or even not knowing how to explore for more information, I pen
this for you to consider shifting today.

We can always try something different. Why not? In Earth School, no report
cards are given. It’s a place to learn and grow, even to hatch new eggs.

With Love,
