Consider having the opportunity to go on a shopping spree. You may begin at any time. There are no limits to what you obtain and you may shop for as long as you wish. Unlimited stores are at your disposal and you may return to ones you have frequented. The request is that you shop for what you need.
How many have left the building upon learning they cannot be supplied with unlimited wants? Some may choose to forfeit this endeavor and go back to their same ol’… That is fine. Now, for those who are still in…
In preparation for the spree, do you plan what you need by sitting and meditating or do you keep a running list as you think of what you need? Do you immediately begin your search or wait until you have considered all you have to consider?
Wait! There might be folks who have difficulty discerning needs from wants. Ah. This adventure does not seem to be as much about what you purchase as it is about discernment and the process of going within to determine your soul’s needs.
Most forget at birth who they are and what they need. Hopes and dreams tend to be out of reach, yet some have Veils that are very thin. Recall of soul contracts and pre-birth plans are crisp and available to them. Generally, our primitive instincts of what we need shift to what we want. How does this happen? There are many explanations, including societal pressures, caregivers not supplying what we need, and avoidance of doing the spiritual work necessary to develop and heal. There is so much that can be discussed around the whys of Jonesing for wants instead of needs; this piece is brief and more about taking first steps.
I suggest sitting down with self and entertaining this Spiritual Shopping Spree offered by Spirit. In a quiet setting with limited distractions, a full stomach and rested body, ask the simple question: “What do I need?” Is it simple for you? It might be for some. For others it might flummox them. Take your time. When you are transparent with self and without judgement, you will receive answers. Honesty about what you truly need in order to heal, move forward, release what does not serve you, and feel happier and healthier are some suggestions regarding how to delve into the question, “What do I need?” All areas of your life may be reviewed. Even if you aren’t able to imagine having your needs met, please consider writing them down. Your list may be short or long. There is no correct amount of needs to be tallied. When you are finished brainstorming, look at your behavior and determine whether you have taken steps towards having your needs met. There is no report card to give self if you find you have not done so. You may begin your shopping spree now.
What I believe is important is learning the difference between needs and wants. Your soul desires what is for its highest good and the highest good of all. Your wants are absolutely included in this life’s movie! I am not suggesting we only address what we need and forget what we want. I am simply offering you the idea that it is healthy to know the difference and see whether you are helping yourself in terms of all that you need.
With the New Year upon us, clarifying who you are and what you need to move higher might just become you. If you fancy the idea, may your shopping spree be festive, with bells and whistles attached!
Bless you in 2025.
With Love,
~Joanie
