I watched the ladybug work. It walked with determination as it pounded the pavement. At a 90 degree angle downward, it spoke of “professional.” Do all ladybugs spend their days briskly puttering? I found this to be an eyeful.

While I knocked off things on my to-do list, I spied this little‘un “scurrying” down the side of a window frame. It reflected my image in that I had a skip to my step, determination in my mind, and passion in my heart. We sort of mimicked each other.

The idea of a seemingly disparate soul having the same waking hours opportunity for soul growth warmed me. While I check off to-do’s, it might be, also. What might I be learning from my step-together, step daytime movie? Being mindful, planful, organized, optimistic, timely, and creative. The list could go on. What might Red be wanting to learn? Let’s take a gander into the life of a non-human. It can assist us with gaining empathy and compassion, as well as expanding past the human experience. Might we even see similarities between the two species’ worlds?

Red wakes up and knows it’s with other friends; they are out and about my home. Not alone, Red wanders the expanse of a fixture that isn’t natural. Outside is where most of its friends are. How it got inside? I don’t know. For some Divine Reason, it wanted to explore an “unnatural” environment. Predators do not exist here. It is safe. Red can roam freely and to abandon. What a life! Might it get tired of all things novel? “To each his own,” I would conclude. Each ladybug — each soul has a different story with a history unto itself. Therefore, we don’t know why it came inside and what it is looking to learn.

The Work is in the Play. We, as humans, tend to forget that the four-letter word that begins with W and ends with -ORK can be replete with enjoyment. If we perceive this as an opportunity to grow spiritually, Play ensues. The ladybug and the human have similar parameters within which to Work and Play: daylight and nighttime. The necessity for food and a place to rest and sleep is a commonality we share. I believe we both address fear with hopes of overcoming it. A positive outlook, perseverance, acceptance, and gratitude assist in the process. At the end of life, we return Home and review all that has been learned.

Red is very brave in that it has a shorter lifespan because it chose to venture inside my home. It made a very key decision to leave nature for deep exploration. I know it will pass shortly due to no food source here. You might ask, “Why not take Red outside?” I respond, “There are so many ladybugs that make their way in at certain times of the year that I cannot find and save them all.” Every now and then, I am moved by intuition to take them outside. My belief is there is a deeper reason why they leave nature and go inside my home to work before they pass. I will not block their contract or free will post-incarnation choice to explore my domicile.

We are similar and different, yet we are the same. We are One. We are part of Creation and are bound by Love.

If you see another that is not like you, consider they are working for soul growth’s sake as are you. It’s a marvelous Plan.

I wish you Love and wish you love your Work.
