The throat chakra. It’s the energy center at one’s throat area that symbolizes the expression of truth. Truth seems to be coming out now, so it’s a good time to talk about it (no pun intended). Before I had a spiritual awakening, I thought the concept of chakras was a riot. I was trained as a conventional social worker to address what was seen and heard. Invisible energy centers were bupkis. To think I went for decades not realizing that 1) we are a spirit in a physical vessel that is a consciousness, and 2) we have energy centers in this vessel that assist us in our spiritual development. Shortly after being hit by a “cosmic wave of Love” around 2003/4/5, I read Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss. I wasn’t quite there with respect to incorporating all she shared about the chakric system, yet I highlighted and underlined everything that was new and felt important. As I read, I was fast-tracked with Divine abilities. As I was fast-tracked, I read some more. I highly recommend reading her book if you want to better understand this concept.

Let’s get to the throat chakra. It resides within your throat region and can be imagined as a nicely spinning ball of energy. I do not work within the paradigm of the back spin, yet I do believe this exists and is part of the chakra’s structure. (Note: Everyone has their bend – their perception – of where they are directed and what moves them. Go with what moves and interests you. Ask others if you have questions. Follow your intuition. Shelve what you might not understand. Trash what you dislike.) How might speaking one’s truth support their spiritual growth? You can answer this, yet I will take a gander to say that in human form, we desire to express and be heard. Some might choose elective mutism or delayed speech in a lifetime for soul growth opportunity, yet the majority of souls are desirous of fuller communication. Expression of one’s truth can offer validation, clarity, recognition, peace, safety, the relaying of information, insight, and levity. I am sure the list is long, yet these came through first. With the ability to vocalize, we learn how to ask for what we need at an early age. Crying is usually the first exercise in infancy that tests one’s ability to have their needs met. As the soul matures, language is almost always acquired and messages are relayed to others for many purposes. Blocks to expression might preclude a satisfying outcome. Karma, curiosity, learning by opposites, being of Service, and negative energies might account for these blocks.

The throat chakra holds the memory of all instances of a soul’s expression of truth. It is quite marvelous to learn that we as souls in human form can address and clear blocks to improve our communication with self and other. How to do this? It takes some third-dimensional work first and this would come in the form of introspection, self-reflection, and deep diving regarding what might be the blocks here in this lifetime that create difficulty expressing truth – speaking to self and other. Therapy is a wonderful avenue for clearing issues. Journaling and also discussing your issues with trusted ones add to the healing. When this lifetime’s work is being done, spiritual healing can layer it with more opening for healing.

The use of intention can be used for clearing what does not serve you. Create sacred space and White Light protection around you. “Across time and space, forwards and backwards across all generations: Any throat chakra karma that blocks me, 1) I forgive myself, 2) please all of you forgive me.” Sip water throughout the day if you use this intentional clearing method. Karma to self and other can peel away like an onion skin. If you feel the need to do this on a daily basis until you intuit that your throat chakra is balanced and cleared, do so. Clearing self of negative energies can be done with intention, as well. Call upon the Highest of Christ Light to remove all negative energies that block you. Be gentle with self and only entertain these processes if you comprehend what you are doing If you do not feel you are able to perform these clearings, seek a professional healer. In time, you might be able to do this as you develop spiritually. The goal is for your Veil to thin where you are able to clear with grace and ease…

Souls might be of Service to other by being either too meek or silent, or overly chatty or abusive. It is for you to go within to see how you feel about your expression of truth and whether you feel comfortable and balanced. If you find you speak clearly, are heard and understood, and your needs are met, you could be balanced with no work to do. This is settling to one’s mind and heart…

Do you hear yourself? Do you communicate clearly to yourself? These are questions often not asked when the throat chakra is discussed. Oftentimes, relaying information to other is the focus. Communication is also within and an honest look at how one speaks to self is necessary if both sides of the communication coin are to be flipped. Are you harsh to yourself? Do you praise yourself? Work can always be done for healing’s sake to gain self-esteem and cease self-deprecation. If one is overly self-congratulatory, this reflects imbalance and insecurity issues are to be addressed. When working alone does not result in the desired outcomes, seek a professional.

The rooster stands and crows to make announcements, get attention, and claim sovereignty. It stands erect and belts out what it has decided is important in that moment. He makes it look easy. If you are looking for centeredness and throat chakra healing, call upon rooster to assist you. This spirit totem will gladly join you in the ethers and discuss what you need to work on to find the balance for self-expression.

I found the throat chakra to be the locus of my attention because I love to write. Expressing myself in this manner affords me the opportunity to not only get my ideas across, but also possibly spread them around so others might know me better.

Take what resonates, shelve what is questionable, and trash what doesn’t fit. There. I said it!

With Love,
