We have the supple red rose, soft and glowing. We also have the burnished, hard rose that is stiff. I liken these roses to one’s heart – the one that loves self and other. This piece can go in many directions. I will try to cover several ideas that come to mind as I pen here.
Some say there is one lifetime and we come into our life with a full heart. Love of self and other at a very young age is apparent. The innocence of a baby at birth. The naivete of a child with softness and grace. The little child that approaches others with curiosity, Love, and wonder. I’d reckon that a young soul’s heart is similar to the plump and sweet rose that sits in the picture alongside this post. How full it is with purity.
Others embrace the concept that we are in numerous incarnations simultaneously and our “oversoul” knows where it is playing at all times. Stick with me here. If we consider that we are Godsparks – pieces of the Oneness – then our hearts have always been pure and full of wonder and grace. Maybe negative karma tripped a soul’s incarnated aspect in a lifetime that overshadows all aspects incarnated. If we follow this concept, then one can have an incarnation where their “heart” has unresolved issues that need attention at the moment of birth.
If you have made it this far, let’s stick with the latter explanation and work with that. I’ll keep going and liken the heart to the heart chakra, which addresses love of self and also love of other. Heart chakra negative karma might move one in the direction of the copper, stiff, wiry (still beautiful, yet not as soft) rose that sits beside the red rose above.
How might one know where they are with respect to heart chakra wounding? Well, introspection is a good place to begin. If one has issues with love of self and/or love of other, forgiveness work is key. Yes. The underrated F word. 😉 The release of unforgiveness to self and other, here in this incarnation, as well as all throughout Creation can free up oneself and assist with healing one’s heart chakra.
For some, they might feel their heart is plump, supple, and soft, but with a peel of the onion, issues might be found hiding below. It surely takes bravery to see what might be hiding underneath one’s T-shirt.
Some say it’s too late and they’ve been hard on themselves, bitter towards others for so long that they cannot imagine feeling lighter and detached from upset. I am a cockeyed optimist and strongly believe anyone can let go of pain and move into a higher, more settled space.
The roses that speak of their respective journeys have a lot to say. They are both roses representing one’s heart chakra. Stories are to be honored, respected, and recounted, if possible. If one is not ready, they will sit with their rose as it sits with them. All is Divine and there is no judgement if one chooses not to release and heal wounds that limit.
This journey is as complicated or as simple as you make it. I say to choose the simple road. Release what doesn’t serve. Ask for assistance from On High. Allow yourself to be human. Laugh at what hasn’t worked out… and forgive self and other here, there, and everywhere.
Your rose is to be cherished. Nourish it with Love.
Bless you.
