Most everyone has found themselves in comfortable situations. We go about our business with grace and ease, and days slide by. Whether it be in relationships, finances, health, work, or family, there is peace. The temperature reading is comfortable and we conclude all’s well. If an area in life destabilizes and shifts from center, would you notice that the reading has changed? Might you freeze with fear as things heat up, raising the number that had been tolerable and manageable? This penning is about life’s ebbs and flows, and how we manage them.

Earth School affords us the opportunity to develop our awareness and perception of our present state, or Now moment. Every moment in the present can be sat with and experienced. Meditation and stillness are two methods to achieve a greater sense of present centeredness. Since we as humans prefer peace and comfort, a hiccup can be jarring. One moves from a balanced state, shifting the fulcrum to a new Now experience that might unsettle and confuse the One Who Used To Dwell in Peace. What one does with the new read on the meter is key.

The ones who destabilize and become immobilized or charged with lower vibrational feelings and responses are very much being human. Yes, it is normal to react and if one does not do so, they might be seen as having deeper issues requiring care. The awareness that a shift has occurred, the identification of what has shifted, and the perception of where they find themselves in their new Now moment can bring them a feeling of control and, yes, peace.

Practicing stillness and observing fears, control issues, and other concerns as they arise assist with the mastery of managing life’s ups and downs. The unexpected, the gray area (the unknown), and shifts away from one’s comfort zone can be embraced as spiritual development gifts for learning’s sake. Addressing destabilization is an opportunity to face fears, heal, and learn how to accept life on life’s terms. It is a wonderful endeavor for a soul in this School.

What if one has a pattern of overreaction when things heat up? What if they do not know how to cool down after things settle and return to a new normal? Well, I would say that the will to change is key. When one surrenders and sees their present behavior(s) as old and incongruent with life itself, they have the world in their hands. The Now moment can be met where one admits to self (ego in check) that they can only do so much and the rest is to be let go for unfolding’s sake.

Ego involvement around entitlement, expectations of self and other, and delusions of what is real are blocks to be addressed. If professional help is needed, find it and enjoy the healing process.

Unresolved past trauma can immobilize someone. When the temperature in the kitchen gets suddenly and unbearably hot, some remain. (In this written piece, I am not addressing when one has no choice in the matter.) Healing is necessary to awaken to reality with a stronger self that can perceive the Now if it becomes uncomfortable. Coping strategies can be attained and the day to day ups and downs may be more tolerable with good help from professionals and trusted others.

Many people avoid dealing with discomfort and have great difficulty managing shifts. I believe we are told that anaesthetizing, or numbing is a way to keep feeling good when the temperature becomes intolerable. For many, it has become unacceptable to acknowledge downturns, changes, and even emotional and physical pain. The looksee at the thermometer for a reality check is not done. Any level of distraction and avoidance might be considered so as not to see and feel and know reality.

Have feelings hurt anyone? No. They haven’t because they are frequencies – consciousness constructs – to be felt and ultimately released. The goal is to face the feeling that is not a fact and grow more strong, wise, and brave.

In the stillness of the Now moment, we can watch the temperature rise and fall, whether it be sudden or gradual. With no expectations and instead, preferably with wishes, desires, hopes and dreams, we can weather any storm.

Sure, comfort is what we yearn for. However, the ups and downs of Life are where we develop as Godsparks. That’s why you are here.

I support you always.
